C. Anthony Tran
C. Anthony Tran is concluding his doctoral research on the modelling of damage in masonry structures.
His studies were centered on
computational mechanics, including mathematical modelling tools (functional
analysis: Sobolev spaces, PDEs), mechanical models (Cauchy continua, beam
models, incompressible Navier-Stokes), and numerical methods and programming
(finite difference, element, volume; Fortran).
His current research interests
include variational approaches (least action, virtual work, ...) to model
elastic, plastic and damaging behaviours, whether through a discrete or
continuous description (generalised continua).
During the academic years 2022/23 and 2023/24 he was the tutor for the Statics and Strength of materials courses of the bachelor
degree course in Architecture and Design Sciences at the Department of
Architecture, Design and Urban Planning of the University of Sassari.
