Jose Manuel Torres Espino
Jose Manuel Torres Espino
received his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the Faculty of
Engineering and Architecture of the University of Lima in Peru.
He is currently a PhD student at
the Department of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning at the University of
Sassari. His research project focuses on modeling innovative microstructured
materials with discrete and continuous approaches.
In 2021 he was involved in a
research project about numerical modeling of damage in masonry, through a
cooperation between Italy and Peru. As a result, he gave a webinar presentation
as a co-presenter and made a respective scientific publication in 2022 with
other collaborators together.
He was part of the Mobility
Program at the Department of Civil, Construction-Architecture and Environmental
Engineering of the University of L'Aquila in the first semester of 2022/2023.
He took courses in Continuum Mechanics and Mechanics of Plates and Shells.
During his period at the University of Lima, he carried out outstanding projects on Construction Technology, Numerical Methods and Hydraulics in events organized by the university. In addition to showing interest in courses on Structural Analysis, Earthquake Resistant Engineering, Soil Mechanics and Reinforced Concrete.
