International conference “Modelling Complexity in Mechanics”
Between September 25 to September
29, 2023 the international conference “Modelling Complexity in Mechanics”
will be held in Alghero at the premises of the Santa Chiara Complex of the Department
of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning (DADU).
The conference is organized by
the Research Center on Mathematics and Mechanics of Complex Systems (M&MoCS)
of the University of L’Aquila jointly with Department of Architecture, Design
and Urban Planning of the University of Sassari and will host more than 70
scholars from around the world.
It will feature as plenary
speakers renowned scientists such as Sébastien Candel (Professor Emeritus at École
Centrale Paris and President of the Académie des sciences), Vincent Tournat
(Directeur de recherche at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique),
Stéphane Bordas (Professor of Computational Mechanics at the Université du
Luxembourg), Jean-François Molinari (Professor and Director of the
Computational Solid Mechanics Laboratory at the École polytechnique fédérale de
Lausanne) and Emanuela Del Gado (Provost's Distinguished Professor at
Georgetown University).
During the conference, the
Levi-Civita and Beltrami awards given annually by the M&MoCS Center will be
presented, respectively, to scientists who have distinguished themselves by
their highly innovative achievements in the fields of Theoretical and Applied
Mechanics or Mathematics and to scientists who have distinguished themselves by
making significant contributions to applied engineering disciplines.
The program is attached. More information can be found on the conference website and on the DADU website.
