Modeling the mechanical response of structures
On April 22, 2024 from 17:00 to 18:30 at the Scano Hall (S1a) of the Santa Chiara Complex will be held the lecture Modellazione della risposta meccanica delle strutture (Modeling the mechanical response of structures) by Antonio Bilotta (University of Calabria).
Abstract:
The presence of materials such as stone, clay, sand, lime,
and cement in every geographical area of the planet has made masonry the oldest
and most widely used building material. Despite this thousand-year history, the
study of the mechanical behavior of masonry is still a very active field of
research, and numerous approaches are proposed. This seminar aims both to
provide a quick overview of the available and most widely used models and to
explore issues specific to historic masonry.
